The Intermediate Shield for the U13 age group was presented in 1995-6 by David Willacy to commemorate his Chairmanship of the English Schools' FA . It was an immediate success, attracting fifty schools in it’s first year. Until 2014 all but one of the finals (moved because of the outbreak of foot and mouth disease) was played at the Spencer Playing Field (the home of Sandridge Rovers) where the Chairman, Nigel Rump, made everyone welcome.
In 2014, on the first Final Night at Woollams, we were pleased to welcome ‘Rumpy’ as our Guest of Honour. This final never ceases to be a showcase of all that is best in schools’ football, enthusiasm, talent, passion and sportsmanship in a70 minute package.
