Welcome

In the temporary absence of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman welcomed those Schools in attendance and officially opened the 2009 Annual General Meeting.

 

Apologies

No apologies were received from those Schools absent.

 

Section Reports

Chairman -

  • The size of the crowd was highlighted at the Senior Wix Final.
  • The Willacy Shield was sportingly shared between Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead following an injury to a player.
  • Thanks was given to Nick Cousins and other colleagues for all of their hard work in the organisation of the County Cup Finals.
  • An e-mail was sent to the Chairman from a female member of staff complaining about having to play two games in two days.

 

Vice-chairman

  • An e-mail was received from an anonymous parent complaining about the arrangements for the re-arranged U/18 Final.  One team were upset about having to wait for the other finalist to be decided, despite the Final date having been published before Christmas.  The parent also asked for a Football Celebrity to present the trophy.
  • Due to the disappointing reaction from staff members at the U/12 President’s Cup Final, the location will be moved to Woollham Playing Fields for 2010.
  • The Executive Committee would like to see more staff in attendance at each County Cup Final.
  • The new CEO of the HFA has invited the HSFA to begin talks on how the two associations can combine operations.

 

General Secretary –

  • Report tabled.

 

Competitions Secretary –

  • Deadlines to competitions must be adhered to or teams will be removed.
  • Punctuality must be improved.
  • Player behaviour must be monitored by staff more strictly.

 

Treasurer –

  • Report tabled.
  • Healthy County balance, despite increase in expenditure.

 

Primary Schools’ Representative –

  • Report tabled.
  • SSCo and secondary staff asked to encourage more entries to the Junior Wix 11-a-side.

 

ESFA Representative –

  • Report tabled
  • Mark Knight will be standing down as ESFA representative at the end of this season.

 

Team Managers Reports

Under 18 – Schools encouraged to send only their best players to the trials.

Under 16 – Beaten in SEESFA semi-final.  Valencia Tour the highlight.

Under 15 – Beaten in SEESFA semi-final.  Team management complimented.

Under 14 – Only the best players to be sent.

Under 14 Girls – Assistance needed for next season.  Watford FC still a problem.

All officers re-elected unopposed (surprise!!).

Any Other Business

  • U/12 Girls County Cup to become 7-a-side competition.
  • Staff contact details must be sent to the General Secretary if changed from the County Handbook.
  • A stricter approach will be taken next season on teams failing to adhere to deadline dates.
  • The Competitions Secretary reminded all in attendance that those Schools absent from the Annual General Meeting would not be entered in HSFA competitions next season.
  • The vice-chairman pleaded for the return of the three Inter-District trophies.
  • Secretary of Mid Herts pointed out the problem of playing Inter-District fixtures on a Friday.  Resolved – no Inter-District fixtures on a Friday next season.
  • Problems may arise next season for some Schools with regards to cover of staff.  Vice-chairman encouraged all Schools to get their games played well before deadline dates to avoid problems.
  • Vice-chairman informed Schools that the competition draws will be made on Monday 8th June.
  • The new Secretary of Lea Valley SFA is Mr K White (Goffs).
  • More female staff are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting in the future.
